Twitter - what's this all about? (also see foot of page)
For the uninitiated, Twitter is a bit like texting on the telephone but can also be accessed on the computer as well as on a mobile phone or smart phone. This means that whenever we type in a new 'tweet' you can access it on your mobile or at your computer. You just need to set up a Twitter account and you can do this really easily by following this link http://twitter.com/
Once you've set up your account, or if you've already got one, add us to your list to 'follow' and you'll start getting tweets from us. This is all experimental at this stage so don't expect miracles but we'll try and keep you updated with scores on match days, events coming up and anything else that we think might be of relevance. Feel free to respond to our tweets or even re-tweet them to your followers.
As always, feedback will be gratefully received.
Media/Communications Officer Required - click here if you would like to know more
As part of the Club's development we would like to hear from anyone who is interested in handling press and media related activities. In the main, this will be to ensure that SCCC gets good representation in the local press and elsewhere throughout the season. During the season we want to ensure that results and match reports are properly presented to the media but we are also keen to ensure that other activities such as our youth development programme is also supported.
We have established a corporate fund raising team, responsible for finding sponsors and advertisers for the club and raising funds through events and other activities. The Press/Media Oficer will liaise with this team as well as with the operational committee's within the club.
No previous experience required, this is a voluntary role so the person selected will need to be a good communicator to help ensure that SCCC promotes itself to the local and extended communities as well as to the press and via the web site.
