We have a large and thriving Junior section that offers cricket coaching and matches for boys and girls from ages 7-14. We believe that, as well as bring great fun, cricket can help young people to develop valuable skills such as team working, discipline and fair play.
Don't worry if you and/or your children don't know much about cricket; we're here to help and suggest you start by having a look at our Frequently Asked Questions page.
Junior cricket at Stirling County has a long and hugely succesful history, with many players going on to represent senior Stirling County, regional and national teams.
A key aim of our Junior section is to encourage as many youngsters to give cricket a go and to use our coaching team to support those boys and girls who are new to the game.
Children (age 7+) who have not played cricket before will start with 'Kwik Cricket', which is a fun, simplified version of the game using plastic bats and soft balls. This is an ideal opportunity to start to develop the skills of batting, bowling and fielding in a safe, fun environment without the need for protective equipment (and note that all equipment is provided by the club).
As children progress, we encourage them to move on to 'proper' cricket when we consider they are ready to make that transition. Safety of the children is, however, paramount and we will not let them play 'hardball' cricket without the correct protective equipment and without all children playing responsibly.
