Covid-19 update: use of nets at New Williamfield
No doubt many of you will have heard the recent positive news from Cricket Scotland and the Scottish Government confirming that, as the country’s lockdown restrictions continue to be eased, cricket clubs will once again be allowed to open their outdoor practice facilities for use by members. In line with this, Stirling County Cricket Club is delighted to confirm the opening of the net facilities at New Williamfield from June 29th and would also like announce the launch of a new booking procedure for those wishing to use our nets.
The club was pleased to learn that it would soon be able to open its net facilities once more for all those keen cricketers eager to get back to training. However, the club also accepts its responsibility in trying to ensure, as best as it can, that all remaining restrictions are adhered to. As such, a new booking system for those wishing to use the nets has been implemented. This system should allow the club to adequately manage the net use at the ground, ensuring that those wishing to train are still able to adhere to guidelines concerning group numbers and social distancing. To book a one-hour net session at our ground, click here and select the available date and time that suits you best. All bookings must be made at least 24 hours in advance.
Terms and Conditions
Although the recent easing of lock down restrictions and the opening of training facilities will have come as a relief to many of us, the club recognises that the ongoing pandemic still poses a great many challenges and threats. With this in mind, the club has created a list of terms and conditions for those wanting to use the nets. By creating these rules, we hope to ensure that those looking to train at New Williamfield can do so in a safe and responsible manner. While a full list of the terms and conditions can be found on our site, the club would like to draw particular attention to the following requirements:
- Only those who have pre-booked a net session will be allowed access to the facilities.
- You can use the nets with members of your own household, or with members from up to 2 other households, at any one time. A maximum of 8 people can participate in a session and you are limited to one session per day.
- Social distancing of at least two metres must be maintained at all times (unless all participants are members of the same household).
- Do not overstay your allocated time slot, you should be clear of the area by the time the next users arrive. Do not stay to socialise.
It is expected that group sessions for junior cricketers will be made permissible from July 13th. The club is currently working on plans that would allow it to run group junior training sessions from this date. However, until July 13th any juniors wishing to use the club’s facilities for practice should follow the same procedure as the club’s senior members and use the booking system mentioned above.
